Priti is currently a PhD design researchers at Brunel University, London in the School of Engineering and Design. Her research focuses on woven electronic textiles through an empirical based approach. The research intentions are to use woven methodologies to make multifunctional soft circuits as an integrated and simultaneous process using in-depth woven knowledge and through design led processes. The research looks to extend the barriers of woven methods for constructing soft circuitry, to enhance these functions with more design considered outcomes by exploiting woven structures. The research is under the supervision of Dr Sharon Baurley.
Priti previously trained as a textile designer at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art, London, specialising in woven textiles. She has exhibited previous work internationally and has worked in the textiles industry professionally as a designer, consultant and an academic lecturer. Alongside her research work, Priti is currently an Associate Lecturer at Central Saint Martins, (UAL) London, where she teaches on the BA Textile Design Course.
