Isabel Cabral is a PhD student in Textile Engineering from University of Minho, Portugal. She is interested in interaction of smart textiles and light, through interwoven variables of experience, expression and functionality. Her research focuses in processes to integrate smart materials in textile structures with the aim to design dynamic light filters - exploiting the ability of smart textiles to transform the fraction of incident light that goes through them (transmittance), in intensity and colour of the light parameters. She holds a degree in Industrial Design from High School of Arts and Design, Caldas da Rainha, Portugal and a Master in Space, Product and Communication Design from Polytechnic University of Catalunya (ETSEIB ) Barcelona, Spain. Has been a researcher in The Swedish School of Textiles in Borås, Sweden.
