Dynamic prints

Celine Marcq, 2014/15

Dynamic print is the beginning of a material research which proposed to revisit the traditional CMYK process printing technique with thermochromics and UV reactive inks. Made out of four coloured layers : Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and black, spread onto the surface at a specific angle, this technique aims at recreating a picture with a photographic precision. The use of reactive inks (thermochromics, UV reactive, etc….) gives a life to the surface which can change appearance with light, temperature or just by moving it.

Some samples are made with non reversible colour-change ink, which makes the reaction even more ephemeral and precious.
