Sensory Lines

EJTech, 2015

Sensory Lines examines the relation between, textile, sound and space, rethinking textile as an audio emitting surface as well as an interactive display source. We have created soft speakers and applied it onto woven structure. Sound is produced and controlled individually at each cross point within the weave which can be shifted and pulled into a hollow convex structure enhancing the acoustics of such., as well as the thermochromic color change acting as pixels within the mesh in order to display the desired 9 x 9 pixel image. Sound, due to its vibrating nature, can also be sensed at the active cross points.
