Performative eTextile

This focus group explore how eTextile function in the play of performance acts, and what is the role of eTextile on stage. As more and more technologies are used in performance context, I feel a lack of aesthetic language of technology, including eTextiles. What is the aesthetic of sensing body, or tactile feedback?!

Thinking of “what is technology to us?”, I think it is still a magic and spectacle.. or maybe I hope it still is, as I spent my childhood in the time of not-so-technological era. (yey, 80s!)
So, I find it interesting to experiment what kind of magic and spectacle you can bring to performance with eTextile, and what kind of aesthetic it will be. From David Bowie to Kenji Sawada, I would like to explore the magic of costume aesthetics, and how we can create them with eTextiles.

I like to explore more what we can do with e-textiles and performances. To experiment with movement and e-textiels .. and have fun with it…

Sorry to be so late to join! I’ve been working with various performance disciplines lately – music for a long time, but recently theatre and dance as well. I’m loving how the performer and technology both have to be in sync. The performance doesn’t work if either one is faltering.
