22 – 23 July 2017, at Les Moulins de Paillard in Poncé-sur-le-Loir, France
Summer Fest is a weekend event that is open to everyone who like to join. The event will take place on the July 22nd(Sat) and 23rd (Sun). We plan to hold a series of workshops that introduce etextile techniques and materials to beginners, and intermediate DIY tinkerers. Besides the workshop, we will organize artist presentations and performances, as well as round table panel discussion to talk about current issues around technology and textiles. In the evening of the 22nd, everyone is invited to join the big summer feast, where we plan to make B.B.Q. grill with a glass of nice local wine so we can sit together and chat casually and get to know each other.
Planned content for the Summer Fest:
– Hands-on Workshops
– Artist Talk/ Presentation/ Pecha Kucha
– Panel Discussion/ Round Table
– Big BBQ Feast
There will be no ticket or entrance fee for the Summer Fest. You will need to sign up for the workshops, and there will be small fee (10-20 Euro) per workshop to cover the materials and tools cost. We will also ask small donation for the Feast to cover the materials costs.
The Paillard Centre d’Art is located in Poncé-sur-le-Loir, which is a small town between Le Mans and Tours France. There are no direct public transport to get to Poncé-sur-le-Loir. We are thinking of organizing a pick-up/drop-off service to near train stations. The details will be announced on this site as the date gets closer.
As it is for the Summer Camp, the Fest will be organized in a bottom-up, handmade manner. It is not a professional organization. Instead, each of us: the participants of the Summer Camp are putting little time and effort together to organize. The details of the content will be slowly taking place, and will be announced through this website. So, if you are interested in visiting, please stay tuned!
